Primary 5 are exploring the topic of shape.

Mrs McGrath and Primary 5 have been exploring the topic of shape this term.

We began by exploring lines of symmetry in shapes and extended our understanding further as we explored symmetry in patterns. We then created beautiful symmetrical patterns for our display.

We continued our exploration by reminding ourselves of the properties of 3D shapes. We 'opened up' these shapes to explore and create their nets and skeletons too!

We are now investigating angles and the different types of angles there are. This will lead us into compass points and turns in movement as we explore grid references also. We have so much to learn and are having great fun along the way!
